On February 13, 2009, the new bridge over the Adda river was inaugurated, linking the municipalities of Olginate and Calolziocorte: a construction commissioned by the administration of the province of Lecco, but also benefiting the neighboring countries between the provinces of Bergamo and Lecco.
The construction of the new road link allows a better connection in the east - west direction of two major arteries.
Travel times have been reduced to connect the important industrial areas located between the two banks of the river Adda, with a consequent reduction in traffic crossing the inhabited areas of Olginate and Calolziocorte and with positive effects on the quality of life.
Luxsolar has developed the systems of AWL aircarft warning lights for this bridge that is not equipped with electricity. The lights, of the MIOL A type, are arranged by solar panels and synchronized to each other wirelessly via GPS (Global Position System). The solar panels and their batteries guarantee a 3 days autonomy in total absence of sun.
